The seller, Brannen Development Company, a local merchant developer in Atlanta, was looking to off-load the new construction property upon stabilization. Matthews™ agents sourced a buyer that was already familiar with the area through an existing relationship. The buyer, Prime Group Holdings, is the largest private owner-operator of self-storage facilities in the United States, with over 15 million rentable square feet of storage space across 25 states.

 

“The buyer had recently purchased another facility in Snellville, so the motivation to increase their presence in the market was already there,” said Associate, Austin McLeod. “By adding this Class A facility to their portfolio, the buyer was able to eliminate a nearby competitor and increase their market share in a rapidly growing, high-income submarket in the Atlanta MSA.”
