NASHVILLE—Matthews™, a commercial real estate investment services and technology firm, completed the sale of McMinnville Plaza, located at 1030 Smithville Hwy and 200 Hobson Road in McMinnville, Tennessee. Matthews™ Managing Director Hutt Cooke and Associate Robert Tate represented the seller in the transaction.
McMinnville Plaza is the largest shopping center in McMinnville and a long-standing generational asset, owned by a family that inherited the property after its development in 1966. The 174,000-square-foot center includes 51 total units, many of which are occupied by local businesses that rely on the plaza for their day-to-day operations.
The seller brought the center to market in preparation for retirement and hired Matthews™ to facilitate the transaction. Matthews™ quickly sourced a value-add investment group that became the first party to move under contract. The buyer was drawn to the center’s Tractor Supply anchor, value-add potential, and its significance as a key retail destination for the McMinnville area.
“We are grateful to the seller for entrusting us with a property of such deep sentimental value,” Tate said. “It was a pleasure to deliver on the commitments we made at the beginning of this process and to help our clients achieve their goals. We’re excited to see the improvements the new buyers will bring to the property and the positive impact their work will have on the surrounding community.”
